Have you ever dreamed of flying among the stars? Well, Orion does! Follow along on an amazing flight as Orion travels to his namesake, the constellation Orion, and dances the night away on each of the stars on Orion’s belt.
About This Book
Every color you see in this book is intentional. The three stars of Orion’s Belt are hot blue supergiants, and at the temperatures they burn — along with the elements inside them, such as hydrogen and helium — they emit a brilliant bluish‑white glow.
As you read, you’ll notice the colors shift throughout Orion’s journey. Greens, browns, and soft yellows reflect the warm tones of late‑summer dusk. As he lifts into the sky and approaches each star, the palette deepens into blues and purples, capturing the feeling of traveling through the night toward these luminous giants. Finally, the colors bloom into pinks and oranges, symbolizing the gentle arrival of morning sunrise.
Two of the stars, Mintaka and Alnitak, are actually binary or multi‑star systems — meaning that when you look up at them from Earth, you’re not seeing just one star, but many working together in a shared orbit.
The illustrations for this book were created using mixed‑media techniques, including watercolor, hand‑carved wood‑block printing, and digital composition in Adobe Creative Cloud. These layered methods bring Orion’s world to life with texture, depth, and a sense of wonder that mirrors the night sky itself.
